Welcome to the website of the U.K.
Independence Party, Bromsgrove Constituency Association.
From the Chairman :-
The UKIP Bromsgrove Constituency Association (Branch) covers
the entire Parliamentary constituency area of Bromsgrove which is also
coterminous
with Bromsgrove District Council.
It includes not only Bromsgrove town itself but also Stoke
Prior, Tardebigge, Beoley, Alvechurch, Wythall, Hollywood, Majors Green, Barnt
Green, Cofton Hackett, Romsley, Rubery, Catshill, Marlbrook, Dodford,
Belbroughton, Clent and Hagley.
If you reside in any of these areas you are entitled to join
UKIP Bromsgrove and we will make you very welcome. If you are able to help us in
fund-raising, spreading the UKIP message or other activities, so much the
better.
If you are not currently registered on the Electoral
register for where you live please contact us for information on how to go about
registration with the District council, and how you can get your entry amended
if you move house, using the new rolling registration procedure.
We are totally democratic and non-discriminatory and
encourage local
people from all backgrounds to join us and support the party locally and
nationally.

John Coleman
Constituency Association Chairman
and Secretary
With the resignation of Steven Morson,
who stood as our Parliamentary Candidate in 2010, winning 2,950 votes,
John Coleman has taken over the helm for the second time. John helped
to found the branch in November 2000 and held the post of Chairman for
almost 5 years.
John describes himself as a Midlander,
being brought up in Tamworth and in North Staffordshire for 20 years.
He read Physics at Birmingham before taking a post as a Medical
Physicist in Lincoln. In 1971 John came to Bromsgrove to stay for “2 or
3” years with his wife Pam and baby Helen, all of whom are still here
some 40 years on. John worked at Bromsgrove College; a second daughter
(Rachel) arrived, and after a few years, all were occupied in Education,
one way or another, in the town. Two husbands and four grandchildren
came along later, half of whom are also living in Bromsgrove.
Politics can be a complex matter, but
John has a simplifying principle as a guide: “Whether we prosper or not
I want to live in an Independent Britain. We may make a mess of things,
but we could hardly do worse than in recent years, and at least we could
take the decisions for ourselves; do others know better? Other nations
have had to fight for their independence; we only lost once in 1500
years. Now we are giving it away, bit by bit. I want to be part of the
fight to reverse that. Please come and join us.”
