They're just NOT listening.....        ......so why keep voting for them?

When the EU Constitution was presented to member states in 2005, France and Holland held referendums. It was rejected, in France with a turnout of nearly 70%, 55% of people voted 'No', and in Holland with a 63% turnout, 62% voted 'No'. There was clearly no taste for increasing E.U. control amongst the people of Europe, so in the form it was presented, the E.U. Constitution was dead.

So the Euronazi's decided to convert it to a Treaty, but in doing so, also made it an enabling and self-generating Treaty. In simple words, it references and reinforces all previous treaties, and ensures that any further constitutional documents issued by the European Union do not require ratification or referendums by member nations. As previously noted on this website, the European Union ceases to be a collection of member states, but becomes a national entity itself, with a legal personality, exactly like the old Soviet Union, with all the implications for centralised, bureaucratic control and dismantling of democracy that that entails.

(There are many, many sources of information on the internet that highlight that the Treaty of Lisbon is almost identical to the E.U. Constitution. Open Europe probably has the best side by side comparison of both documents here. (The Director of Open Europe, Neil O'Brien, wrote this article in the Sunday Telegraph of 24th June 2007.)

On Wednesday 18th June 2008, the House of Lords of the British parliament voted in favour of the Lisbon Treaty, and it was scheduled for Royal Assent (signature by Queen Elizabeth II). This sent shock waves through UKIP, as this was the last opportunity the British people might have had to reject any more of the stifling and suffocating progression of the European superstate.

The main effects of the Treaty are:-

  • A fully functional President of the European Union (rather than the present ceremonial office), serving a 30-month term of office
  • A "Foreign Minister of the European Union", superseding our own Foreign and Commonwealth Office and also our Ministry of Defence, as this appointee will also include Security in their portfolio, both of which areas we have always regarded as the domain of our Head of State, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
  • New powers for the European Commission, European parliament and European Court of Justice, in areas such as justice and home affairs - including criminal sentencing!
  • A redistribution of voting weights between the member states, phased in between 2014 and 2017, and a removal of single-nation veto in may areas
  • The very sinister European Gendarmerie Force

The current E.U. has the constitution of a dictatorship, and the laws of a police state. This latest Treaty cannot, by any interpretation, be deemed integration - it is absorption by eradication, inclusion by extinction.

The process of formal ratification of the Treaty was on Friday 20th June 2008, and it terminated with the lodging of the signed and bound Treaty in the Italian Foreign Ministry in Rome. Such was the indecent haste by Prime Minister Gordon Brown to ratify this Treaty, that Lord Justice Richards had to remind him that that the process could not complete while the case brought by Stuart Wheeler (to hold the government to a manifesto pledge for a referendum), was being considered in the High Court. He did not succeed.

Arguably, the only hurdle left before the United Kingdom is effectively abolished is our joining of the single currency - the Euro. Many people believe that we are being slow-engineered towards inevitable union, as the Pound sterling and the Euro seem to be approaching parity (i.e. £1 = €1).

The only way for us to regain control of our country and govern ourselves again,

is for a UKIP General Election victory to return

an absolute minimum of 324 MP's to the Commons, so that we can repeal the 1972 European Communities Act.

We have been misled, deceived and betrayed by Labour AND Conservative governments

since the "European Project" began!

WHY TRUST THEM ANY MORE?     IT'S TIME TO VOTE UKIP!
